I'm going to begin a Cupramine treatment for ich (in a QT). The bottle says the final copper concentration should be .5mg/L. The copper test kit I have measures in ppm. It says to maintain copper concentration at 3ppm. Should I use the cupramine and bring it up to 3ppm or is there some sort of conversion I should be doing?

Get a salifert kit
Salifert reads in ppm....
At any rate, figure ppm to be the same as mg/L in this case. With cupramine, a starting concentration of 0.5 is what you should shoot for.

Reading your post a little more, but it seems as though your test kit is telling you to raise the concentration to 3ppm? Don't follow the directions for dosing on the kit, follow the directions on the bottle.

Whoops, it actually says .3ppm. Should I be raising it to .5ppm? My test kit only goes up to .4ppm, so it looks like I'll be getting a new one.
