A long time reef nerd, 100 Gallon reef tank with assorted low-mid grade care fish, and a single "symbiosis" 80 gallon tank, aquascaping done specifically to accommodate anemone's and clowns, and cleaning shrimp stations. Quick introduction; Large yellow-headed sleeper goby, purple striped pseudo, 2 cleaner shrimp (skunk.), and a pretty little mandarin for my pod surplus.)
I've had said clowns (False Percula, ocellaris.) for a month (Same clutch..)they seem to be fine, until the smaller clown fish moves toward the anemone. I literally had to hand separate the two of them (Finger separate.) last night, as she had him chomped by the abdominal fin (Proper name..?), tugging on him. She is clearly larger, I'm not sure if they are sexing still, but recently she has just began to chase him away within a marginal radius of the anemone. When he's bitten he turns to his side, shakes, vibrates against her if possible, and in the same area as her.
Should I return this pair, and hope for a better matching? Or tough it out..I'd hate to see them go, but hate even more to see him bullied and hurt. :{
Thanks guys.
