My chiller (a 1/4 EcoPlus) hit the skids last night and will need to be replaced. I have a 360 FLOWR that I intend to convert to a reef in the next couple of months. Any suggestions on a good, reliable and quite chiller would be much appericated.

Tradewinds is excellent. Pacific Coast has worked well for me on multiple tanks.

x10. I have the 1hp model on my 400 gal and she'll drop the temp quicker than you can say_____. I think they offer the longest warranty in addn to being American made.

Tradewinds builds a quality product. Have a 3/4hp on my 300 and it works really well during those hot FL summers.

have 1/3 hp works great. Had another brand before think it might have been pacific coast not sure but it had small internal fuse that didn't like our power variations to well. it cooled just fine but i think we changed that pos fuse 4 times in a year.

my problem is that I need to put it in my stand, which is quite large. It can accommodate the chiller, but I am concerned about venting. Does anyone have experience with keeping a chiller in a stand and, if so, how is it vented?

Aqua Logics.

With chillers, it is always good to give them plenty of air so they can vent and bring air into the chiller itself. If you keep it in a stand, you may want to have the back open if possible and run a fan into the area.

What about a drop-in chiller. Are they just as effective as the inline variety? I assume that venting would not be an issue if the chiller was in the sump.

Had one in the stand of a previous tank. struggled to work wound up removing the housing it was better but still struggled on them HOT summer days. Current configuration I have moved the chiller to the attic and should have done that years ago
