My female false perc has a little white thing that looks like a half moon under her gill plate. When she breaths in and the gills expand you can see it for a quick moment. When the gills move back towards her body you can no longer see it. She is not breathing abnormally or scratching up against anything and eating just fine. What could it be?

Could the operculum of the gill be damaged and you are seeing the gill arch?

I don't know what could have damaged it in one night, I have no other fish and nor crabs or shrimp.

Sounds like a parasite to me. possibly an isopod or Flukes. A fresh water dip may be enough to remove it and give temporary relief to the fish, but it will require further treatment. Is the clown breathing normally?
