Hey,I recently bought a 125g from a person and upon getting it home i realized this pit/chip in the corner edge of the tank.Would the tank still be safe to use?
Thanks

Those pics leave a lot to question. Need better pics.

I apologize for the pics.Im not the best photographer. In detail it seems as if something has hit the side in those 2 spots, possibly from transport.Rubbing my finger over it i feel little crumbles of glass. It does not seem deep and the silicone seems absolutely undisturbed on both sides.

if the chips are small then dont sweat it. If they compromise the silicone seal, you may have an issue.

I used a chipped up tank for quite a while, I just took a dremel and a glass sanding bit and smoothed the sharp spots.

Just be careful, if it is an older glass tank, I think they chip easier than new ones. At least mine did!

Heres another shot.Let me know what you think. Not on the outside of glass. Its on the edge of the inner piece of glass where the corner meets.

Based on that picture it looks like the chip goes halfway through the silicone seal between those two pieces of glass. I personally wouldn't be comfortable using the tank as is, and would probably post in the DIY section to get the opinion of some glass/tank building/silicone experts.

1+ i wouldn't use it as is. Sure it may never crack and leak or it may crack and your entire setup would be compromised, losing alot more than if you just got a new tank/fixed it. Trust me, you're going to spend alot more on what's in the tank than the actual tank itself.
