where are some good places to buy a rimless cube tank and stand? i know of glasscages, but it seems like they don't really make stands. i'm not crafty enough to build my own stand.

IMO/IME, Miracles (or LeeMar if you are on the West Coast). Can't get much better than that. :)

yes, i saw d2minis' build. that is what is kinda inspiring me. although, it will be my 2nd tank, so i am not looking for one that big. i'm looking for like a 50ish gallon tank.

i am in atlanta. and i've talked to two LFS stores here with no luck.

One option would be to check out a local reef club. I would think you could find someone that would make you a nice stand. glass cages for the tank. This would be more work but maybe you could learn a thing or two. This hobby has LOTS of DIY opportunities..

Actually glass cages does sell stands. check out there website. Example. 24x24x18 (60gallon) reef ready with stand delivered 600 bucks...

Good Luck!

I'm also in the market for a small cube, a little smaller than what you want... 30ish gallons or so. I'm thinking 20 x 20 x 18. Miracles quotes me $700 including shipping. Thats with starphire glass on 3 sides. Is that a good price? I've never looked into custom tanks before... it strikes me as being a little steep. Especially if glass cages is selling a 60 gallon with stand for only $600, delivery included also. Are miracles that much better?

I don't mean to hijack, this information would probably be helpful to the OP as well

hijack all u want. it's cool with me. :)

my LFS does have the solanas. u might want to look into those. but i am looking for a cube that's not as tall as the lenght and width. not quite shallow, but not quite solana style either.

That's very nice, especially for $180. I'd be nervous about finding someone to drill it and installing an overflow box myself... but to save $500 I bet I could pull it off, haha! Thanks
