As previously stated I recently purchased a GBTA & A pair of Occ. Clowns! Now, I was wondering about some of the anemone's habits...!
Is it normal for him to deflate almost daily, and in the process his mouth open up & discharge brown..substance? Then for him to look like he's gone through a wash cycle & gradually inflate, & close his mouth? Am I not feeding him enough? I'm taking a small amount of mysid shrimp & (carefully!) spraying the substance into his tentacles every other day. He looks rather healthy, his stalk is nice and bright, his tentacle colors are changing a bit, and he's hanging upside down in the cave he's chosen to stick in, I'm sure his foot staying planted is a good sign? :D Thanks in advance!

Deflation is normal, they excrete 'stuff' via the mouth as well as intake food via the 'mouth'. Staying put is great, perhaps its found a suitable location.

I was just posting this more or less so my fiance could have some peace of mind. Thank you for confirming! :)

I would let it find it's spot before you feed it anymore. What lighting do you have, they don't need much and will seek shade if it's too much. You can feed it small chunks of frozen food every couple of weeks and let it catch whatever it can the rest of the time.

you know mins is doing the same thing , almost daily . I moved him to my nanocube because I thought something was wrong with him . He is still in the nano , smaller than when I got him . He doesnt accept food , although he did when I got him.

He's been stationary for atleast a month.. he's not moving, just deflating and inflating.

It is normal for anemones to get a bit smaller after the lights are off. However, if it is fully deflating daily, that isn't a good sign. And if the mouth is open, then something is wrong.
What are your current water parameters -- with numbers. And what lights do you have?

Eh, he's been known to skip a day, or three, Hence the almost daily. His mouth is only open during these deflation times, which leads me to believe he's just "expelling waste".
Water parameters I can check tomorrow, lights I have theee Coralife Aqualight pro with dual 150w Halides. (Too expensiveee)
Here's a photo of it during a normal day;
