I have a two month old tank and am doing MB7 and vodka. I followed SunnyX's build thread so this is where I got my dosing regimine.
93 gallon soon to be SPS dominant tank
Right now I am dosing.
1ml of vodka a day
7 drops of MB7 a day.
All I have in the tank are some LPS and some fish.
Should I stop dosing vodka for now because I have no SPS. Currently I have no algae issues which I like. I have some green coraline algae growing on my rocks that is normal. No hair algae or other nusiance algae.
I feed about 1/3 mysis cube, 1/3 of formula one cube, and a 1/3 of cyclopsis cube, and some spectrum pellets every day.
I am just wondering if the vodka is necessary for my system at this point. I would hate to go off of it and get hair algae. Should I just knock it down to .5ml a day?

I do not think that dosing now is an unreasonable plan. Since you are feeding the fish so there will be nutrients available.

As to an exact dose, I think most such dosing schemes are largely guesswork when nutrient levels are already low. Just watch the tank and if it seems OK, stick with it, and if not, adjust it in a direction that might be helpful. :)
