Moving to a 120 gallon (48x24x24) soon, looking for suggestions on fish.
This will be a mixed reef, lots of snails, hermits, shrimp, a clam, and long tentacle anemone moving from the current tank.
Current fish:
Pair of occ clowns
yellow tang
2 green chromis
flame angel
6 line wrasse
I'm thinking maybe a hippo tang, or any tang that would be ok with the yellow I already have and do ok in a 4' tank.
I may try a mandarin down the road, but I'm undecided on that.
Throw some suggestions out there. :)

How about a symbiotic goby and pistol shrimp? I don't have one myself (yet) but it is on my stock list. Just a different dynamic to add to the tank and be something to hang out in the lower levels.

African Midas Blenny. Awesome friendly fish. Just got one last week myself. Eats just about anything, perches and watches the family. Watches me get ready for work in the morning. Tries to get you to pay attention to him.. etc. I still have to name him though.. haven't come up with a good one. Was thinking 'Wilbur'.

Diamond goby to clean your sand

I do really like diamond gobies, but in my experience, unless you are doing a good job keeping ich out of your tank, not just not currently breaking out, they spend too much time in the sand, and therefore exposed to the parasite. This causes unhappiness and death many times.

I had an algae blenny, and he was a really cool fish. He caused too many problems with the clam and had to go. I don't think I'm willing to risk another nipper.
I'm not a big fan of the mess the sand sifting gobies make, so the diamond is out. I'd rather not have sand all over the lower rocks and LPS's sitting in the sand.
I'll look into the bartlett anthias's & lyretails, not real familiar with them.
Keep the suggestions coming. :)

You have a flame angel already, I'd rank it a bigger nipper or future nipper on a clam than any algea blenny. That said I have a starry blenny and he has a lot of personality. I also have two clams and he or she hasn't looked in their direction once. But then it's also a very fat starry blenny. :)
If you are looking for active reef safe fish you can't go wrong with flasher or fairy wrasses. I suggest you either add them all at the same time with your current six line though. Imo six lines can get rather bossy when they get established. But any fairy or flasher wrasse in a proper harem will make a nice display and along with your current six line you have a good utility fish for parasite picking. Which ever way you go, good luck.
