I have purchased a multi-head frogspawn colony and was looking at maybe fragging a few heads off of it. My question is, where to cut the frospawn (was going to use a tile nipper) and what to do with it after I frag it? I was thinking all I have to do it frag it an inch or more below the tisue and put it in the sand bed.

Thanks for the advice.

1 Inch down from the soft tissue will be fine. Just snip it off.

You can then either stick it in the sand or Glue it to some LR.

Thanks for the info TiTAN, I will give it a go. It is getting quite large and I think it would be good to give it to someone starting out. They seem pretty hardy (I am a newbie) and I enjoy it.

yah they are pretty tough just leave enough branch to place the frag easily

Is it okay to cut 1 inch down through the fleshy tissue?

I heard cutting the flesh will kill it...

I would cut below the Fleshy part just to avoid any infection.

definitely try to stay away from the tissue

my frogspawn soft tissue has started to move up the skeleton a bit. Is this an issue, or is it just the frogspawn growing? everythign else looks fine.

I may have to frag the one this week, it seems it may have an issue. Some soft tissue is moving up the skeleton 1/8" and new white skeleton is showing, and I am affraid parts of it are dieing.

Will post some pictures if I frag it to save the other heads incase an issue arises.

I agree... you don't need any fancy cutting tools... let your hands do the cutting ^_^

I usually use a sharp pair of scissors or some coral cutters if it has a harder than normal skeleton. Best to cut a the base of where the head branches off, that way your mother colony won't look as mangled afterward and you won't have to worry about damaging the tissue. Using a dremel would probably be fine too since they have a soft skeleton.

Would a dremel with a carbide saw bit work with cutting a head off. Seems like that would be more precise than just snapping or cutting with snips hoping it's a straight cut.
