GEO has been building quality products since way before I got into this hobby. The beauty of his stuff is that it is made with the highest quality materials and engineered to perfection. If it wasn't for the lower price of GEO products over the years, I wouldn't have been able to set up the system I have now.

Here are a few of the GEO products I use currently, or have used in the past:

Custom built sulphur denitrator

Custom built calcium reactor

Original calcium reactor and empty skimmer

Custom built GEO sump, one of two in series

I have some more pictures of other skimmers and calcium reactors that I will dig out from years past as well. These are the items running my 1200g system at present.

The white doesn't show dust and dirt like the black:) GEO builds stuff better than any products I have used to date, just can't beat good old made in the USA equipment with quality parts and excellent customer service.

GEO's calcium reactors are really the best! Especially the models that use the panworld pumps. I think I am going to retrofit my 612 with the smallest panworld available since the eheim pump on it is sometimes problematic.

This is a big surprise. I've always run Eheims on my GEO's and have never had a problem with any of them. Actually the only problem i had was a leaky o-ring but that was because the pump was about 4 years old. A couple bucks later, a new o-ring, and the pump was working good as new.

Where do I even start? Over the last 6 years, I started out with a single 58 and under tank sump (that didn't last more than a couple of months), went to roughly 450-500g, and am on my way back down again.

Four-five or so years back when I was expanding out of my under tank sump, it was time for a real skimmer. Dual recirc needlwheel was the hot item at the time, and I got a GEO piece, and it's been a disease ever since that won't go away

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/01.16.2006-1.jpg

That was followed up shortly later by calc/kalk and 618 media reactor (not pictured):

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/09.06.2006-2.jpg

Two custom chambers I built (ones obviously without GEO stickers), but took care of my reef for years without hardly any downtime and no issues:

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/12.16.2007-6.jpg

It was time to retire an old skimmer, so GEO built me a monster. At peak performance, I was pulling ~140-150 SCFH @ 130w.

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/03.07.2009-1.jpg

Since then a number of things changed in my life, specifically twins. In the last few months, I've been in the scaling down mode, selling tanks, purging SPS, and will be getting back to my LPS only roots as it's the easiest thing to maintain and basically ignore for extended periods ;) Due to that of course, all the massive GEO hardware I have is extreme overkill, so it's time for a new round of GEO "mini's".

One of his smallest beckett's ever built, fits well inside a 12x12x24 space:

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/04.15.2010-2.jpg

Small 4" chamber for carbon (left) and a new possible product using a 3" chamber with a pump underneath design.

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/04.15.2010-3.jpg

My last big piece of old reliable hardware is the big GEO 618, so guess what might be next in the land of GEO mini ;)

MUUHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

My next toy has arrived!

(addition to the geo goodies here) (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16961240&postcount=18)

Kind of funny nanook and I are absolute opposites right now (although I use to be larger scale, but not at his level). He has some of GEO's biggest gear, and I'm pushing him for new small models becuase most of the stuff on the market in that scale is absolute junk or nonexistent.

I went by his workshop today becuase my next GEO prototype piece was ready... likely to be part of a new "GEO Pico" line of products. The GEO Pico Calcium Reactor!

A relatively familiar design to most with a lot of the normal features, and some new. To start with, all the standard nice features like all the correct parts and adapters included in the package, black thumb screws and a locking top, etc. This one however is different from his current models as it's downflow in the reactor. That has a number of benefits in this design, one of which is the fact the maxijet chops up the co2 bubble much like a skimmer with a needlewheel. Since the tube comes back in the side of the reactor, the top comes off easy. It also has a stand alone bubble counter and mounting plate I can put anywhere in my stand. I will likely mount the co2 canister one spot, regulator and bubble in another, and the reactor in sump or next to it.

http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/05.19.2010-1.jpg

Quite a bit of size difference in this solution vs the GEO 618 and 10lbs tank. Much less weight, much smaller footprint, ability to hang and move things out of the way in the stand, etc. My 618 holds about 15 lbs of the mix of media I use. The pico slightly over 2.
http://mad-skillz.com/aquarium/05.19.2010-2.jpg

Operational, and quite well so far actually. Less than an hour running, and effluent dkH is already 18-20. Some will see I'm running a paintball canister. That's another thing I'm testing. Weight wise, it started out at 4lbs 6.8oz. Three weeks later it's down to 4lbs 6.0oz, which is a pretty insignificant change so far.

Indeed, the shop looks like a wood shop. What most people do not understand about GEO products is this; Its not a factory that cranks this stuff out by the truckload. Every single piece is cut by Geo, inspected by Geo, assembled and shipped by Geo and never lets anyone else do it. They are truly hand crafted items. When someone needs their CA reactor lid replaced because they dropped it or blew the dang thing up, it isn't a stock item pulled off a shelf somewhere and shipped out, he goes to the shop and cuts out the new pieces, builds the new piece and ships it and thats why we get the quality we get.

He is not a factory folks, he is a true Craftsman.

I bought an 818 calcium reactor and absolutely love it! I think it's the best piece of equipment I've ever bought for a tank. I e-mailed back and forth with Geo a few times with a couple questions -- he's a super nice guy. I've since picked up a 624 calcium reactor used to put in my fish / coral room, and I'll definitely be buying more of his equipment as I need it. I hope he's able to keep making these products for a very long time, as he's a real asset to this hobby.

George built my Beckett skimmer about 1.5 years ago (delivery by UPS was delayed because it was supposed to arrive the same day as Hurricane Sandy). It's not as big as Nook's Skimzilla, but it's every bit as pretty ;)
It builds up a head of foam that actually lifts and moves the cap on the collection cup.

I also wanted to add that GEO has great customer service. I accidentally broke the PVC to acrylic glue joint on the top of my 612 calcium reactor with a big input of CO2 (long story) a few years ago. I contacted George, told him about it, and he replaced the lid free. Now that I was not expecting, especially since it was my fault it broke.

Well, with all my sticks my little GEO 612 calcium reactor was working it's heart out but I was having to refill it every 2 months or so then dial it back in. Not a great formula for stability. Nanook hooked me up with one of his old custom GEO 824 media reactors. We sent it in to GEO and he converted it into a calcium reactor. Can't thank Dave and GEO enough! Picked it up from Nook last night and this is one sweet reactor. GEO's attention to detail is awesome and just get's better and better! Notice the new black silicone tubing that won't get stiff and grow algae inside.

The intake port on the lid is now routed out too so any bubbles are pulled back in and dispersed better.
