I have a 75g barebottom tank. I don't know if someone has asked this before, but can it be possible to keep a carpet anenome without substrate? probably not, but just asking, since they do attach to the bottom glass correct? ok sorry for the dumb question

I would not suggest it for Haddoni, but gigantea yes.

don't know about barebottom. i have a gigantea with a very shallow sandbed.

it's basically just a thin layer of sand for visual appeal maybe 1/4 - 1/2 inch where the anemone is.

so not precisely an answer to your question, but just some anecdotal evidence. you can see how shallow my sandbed is in my nem thread.

the point i guess is that my gig is attached to the rock at the sand/rock interface, but his foot is entirely attached to the rock. pics help on other thread i suppose.

keep researching.
