I bit the bullet and got a pair of plasma lights for my 210. I have some pictures of the lights and the frame I mounted them on. As soon as my cell phone finishes sending some pictures I took with it of the lights at 70% I'll post them as well. I don't have any par readings yet, but I believe we have a member of our local reef club that has one I may be able to get my hands on.

Here the lights are on the tank at 20% brightness.... basically sunset profile on the controller.

The lights are hanging about 16 inches above the water line and I hope to get some par readings soon. I'll update with some pictures at a brighter setting as soon as I get them on photobucket.

I find these interesting. Let us know on the readings. Do they have a slight green tint or ? How do you like the color..? Do They look to have massive heatsinks, do they get super hot? Sorry of that was a dumb question haha.

At 100% with the 40 series luxim emitter they get yellow. My solution to that has been to run it for a couple of hours mid day while I'm working at 100% so I don't have to look at it. At 70% it looks a lot like 10kish to me. I think I'll put a few blue LED's in for supplementation in the end, but the color at 70-80% is pleasing to my eye. The amplifiers get hotter than the reflector area, but its nothing compared to the metal halides that they have replaced. I know they are experimenting with the 41 series which is considerably bluer. I decided to go with this unit so I could reduce power to make it blue. I felt like I might be pushing the envelope if it was the blue color I liked at 100%. I don't want to burn/bleach my corals by having the light too intense for such a long period. Here are a couple of quick shots of the lights at 70% I've had a bit of a bloom since I put them in. I also had a wrasse fatality at the same time, so I'm unsure which is to blame. Forgive the poor quality on the photos.
