I just got a reefkeeper controller and wanted to use the wavemaker option with it. I have a moded maxijet and a tunze that aren't suppose to be turned off and on a lot.

So my question is, are there any good powerheads that would work?

I've been using modded Maxi Jets with no problems. I probably put them both on standby three or more times a day.

I was just about to ask this question myself!

I'll be replacing 2 K2's and a K1. What would work well for that?

what do you mean standby?

The Reefkeepers have a standby option that allows you to press two buttons to turn off powerheads (or return pump or whatever you want to stop for a given amount of time) to subdue flow while you feed. I find leaving that much flow going while feeding moves the food around faster than the fish can keep up with. Some people even put a skimmer on standby. I cease powerhead flow for ten minutes, but the Reefkeeper lets you choose any time interval you want.
