I just got a Canon camera and took some pics in RAW format and I am having troubles uploading them to Photobucket. Any suggestions?

Convert them to jpeg before uploading to photobucket. It would take a half an hour to upload a raw pic. I also save to web to reduce the file size.

What software do you use? Most people either have Photoshop or something similar... Google Picassa is a free program you can use to convert.

...or the canon software that came with the camera if you bought new. In the canon software you would select "convert and save".

Just an FYI for others, but saving for web strips EXIF data from your image. You may or may not want that to happen. I do not.

I only save for web for posting. I keep all originals and also an edited copy on my computer and on my backups. If you don't save for web and use photobucket you'll have to go pro pretty fast if you upload alot of pics. I have over 2000 now and still have room.

If you're just "converting RAW to JPG" without doing anything to file during the conversion, you're wasting your time and would get better looking images if you just shot JPG.

RAW is an unprocessed format. The whole point in using it is because it gives you more to work with during processing in Photoshop, Lightroom or some other software of your choosing.
