My sebae and ritteri anemones seem to have "shed" a membrane around their foot, and now it isn't sticky so they will fall off any rock I place them on (not together, obviously). The sebae shed it about 3 weeks ago, 2 days after purchasing him, and the ritteri shed it yesterday (I've had him a week). Other than that, both anemones are acting healthy, eating, and have sticky tentacles. Anyone experience this? What can I do? I can't find info on this anywhere, and I'm freaking out! :sad2:
pH 8.2
temp 78
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0-5
sg 1.023-1.025 (it seems like no matter how much salt I add, it always drops back to 1.023 within a day)

what are you using to measure salinity? it should only go up over time as fresh water evaporates leaving saltier water in the tank. nothing uses up salinity in a tank so it would be very irregular for it to go down (unless you have an ato that isnt functioning properly). the only thing i could see doing this is adding something to the tank that is precipitating out the salt.
re:nems, i dont know if mixing those species works or not but generally mixing species in the same tank can lead to chemical warfare and loss of one or both. iif one of them has an infection could be spreading to the other.

The sebae is a bottom dweller in the sand or at the base of a rock, I have had 2 of them and they both liked the sand.
