Fluidised bed filter - your opinions and experiences

Hello fellow reefers,

I would like some feedback on fluidized bed filters,what are your experiences and opinions? would it work on a small tank,is it a good analog to other filtration - nitrate control options? and also what is the best design (pictures and blueprints would be very very helpfull)?

I used to use two of them on my 150, along with LR, but took them out - they, if anything, are sort of like bioballs - perhaps a little too good and breaking ammonia and nitrite into nitrate. for a FO tank, they would be fine, IMO

so this means that its no good for sps nano tank?in conjunction with a chaeto refugium?
