Greetings friends. I have about 20 pounds of live rock curing in two 5 gallon buckets. Yesterday, I realized the salinity had been around 1.30 for about a day. Do you think I killed off all the life? The beneficial bacteria?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Should not matter that much, just add more fresh water to lower your salinity to 1.025. I buy inverts or fish and measure the salinity in the bag and sometimes it is at 1.030 from the Lfs. Lfs gets too lazy to top off.

+1. Nothing to worry about. Just adjust salinity.

Just use the smell test. If the rock smells like the ocean, its ok. If it smells funky or like a dead body, it needs to re-cure. But, the rock should be fine.
