I just had to buy something new for my tank to celebrate my new flatworm freedom. When I saw this crocea in the store last night I just knew it had to be mine! It's 5" long and has the biggest mantle I've ever seen on a crocea. Isn't it pretty? I have 6 clams now but I don't think I could ever have enough!

Hey Flame, I thought you wanted a green Crocea? The one that you picked out is beautiful. I second that group shot.:)

Nice clam. {Sorry} I missed it- how did you finally get rid of the big flatworm population? Are you sure the "flatties" are totally gone in your system? Congratulations, Susan!:smokin:

These two are on the other end of the tank:

I love my clams, I'm pretty sure when that special green one comes along I'll find room for it :) I keep looking at that huge green star polyp rock and imaging something like a big deresa ...

The tale of my final battle with the flatworms is here:

Get a beer before clicking that one. Project Reef I even mentioned you in there :) I used Flatworm Exit, quite succesfully, and will actually be treating again this weekend to be sure I get them all.

I'm starting up my phytoplankton again this weekend and the rotifers won't be far behind. It feels GREAT!!!!

nice clam.
You always seem to pick the good ones.

You need a group shot taken from overhead

Those are zooanthids? They came as hitchhikers on my live rock and are big ugly tough things I can't seem to get rid of. They get about 2" across each and are on these long tough stalks that have to be cut with something sharp. They spread really fast and I have 2 patches of them now. Maybe I should try some kalk paste. Anyone ever have anything like these?

They sure look like really cool zoanthids of some sort, and really nice big healthy ones too. I would propagate and trade or sell them myself, I think. I'm sure someone would gladly take them off your hands if you wanted. BTW, besides being big, and cool, they look pretty toxic (most zoanthids are, but, some more so than others).

Flame I would stick um with kalk. I have a few patches of zoos still and i keep them in line this way...

Those zoanthids look more like Protopalythoa. I have some in my display, they hitchhiked on some rock. The polyps did not come out for 3 years. How is that for hiding.

You just never know what will spring up next.
