Garage sale season is here in the midwest and i'm going to be out looking for good deals on a few small tanks. I can't imagine having any success in knowing 100% that I'm avoiding tanks that have had copper treatments so I was wondering what's the best way to clean an old tank for use as part of a reef system? (QT, sump, etc........)

Thanks.

First, rinse the tank and all associated equipment thoroughly. Use Cuprisorb by SeaChem followed eventually by activated charcoal in the tank. The copper should be effectively removed with these measures.
