View Full Version : Simple Solution To Test TDS Meter

I use one of the cheapo HM Digital dual TDS meters to monitor my RO. One after the membrane to monitor membrane performance and one after the DI to monitor DI performance. After the membrane usually reads 0 or 1, recently it started reading up to 9 so I replaced my membrane with a new DOW 75gpd. Now it's reading 55 and if I move that probe to after the DI (new resin a few weeks ago) it still reads 55. But says "err" if I put it in tank water.

So its still working but I'm not sure if I can test it or calibrate it.

Is there a simple solution like adding one tsp of salt to a gallon of RO/DI water should test at "xyz" TDS.

By the way, my second TDS probe reads 0 on both the out of the membrane and DI.

I do have the pinpoint solution if that helps.
