Anybody kept this fish? Pseudocheilinops ataenia.

Compatability with other fishes? Other wrasses? Did it hide all the time? What did it eat? I have a 75 peaceful mixed reef. Would like to eventually add one or two leopard wrasses.

Thanks.

I have a thing for cryptic fish, and I put one of these in an 11 gallon I had on my desk - I literally saw it maybe once a week even in the 11 gallon - it was exciting when I did though!

In terms of eating I had a bunch of little gobies in there so I would just shake out the chaeto from my main display in there a few times a week - never saw it eat anything though - it lived in there for quite a while but ended up as carpet jerky so make sure your lid has no gaps!

Hmmm. Once a week, eh? I had a possum wrasse I saw only at feeding time. Cool fish, but, man, you don't get to enjoy them much. Anyone else?

Mine is fat, happy, and frequently visible but the tank is very calm. This is an extremely placid fish but will do well in the right situation.

I have a pair and they are mostly out and about. My tank is peaceful though, with a few chromis and 3 shrimp gobies and a tailspot blenny aside from the wrasses. They like to have hiding places to jet into at the slightest fear, but seem to come back out quickly. I've had them about six weeks now; from LA. They interact with each other - mostly hang out together. After the MH goes out in the evening sometimes the one I believe is a male displays to the other one. The only gender difference seems to be slightly brighter stripes and more blue on the male.

Thanks. Interesting.

Do all your gobies have shrimp partners?

There are 3 gobies and 2 Randall's pistol shrimp. I had read that sometimes shrimp will double up with a shrimp but this not yet happened in my tank. Only the Randall's shrimp goby is seen regularly.

Meant that multiple gobies can live with a shrimp.
