Is 40 ml a day too much vinegar to dose a 90g - 115g system?
Parameters: PH 8.4, SG 1.026, temp.78, AM 0, NO2 0, NO3 3.0, PO4 .35, CA 260, Mg 1150, dKH 9. Currently slow dripping CA & Mg from IV bags to bring levels up. Running MSX 200 skimmer, Phosban in reactor & de*nitrate in separate reactor. In process of setting up fuge w/DSB (not complete yet). Doing weekly 10g - 20g water changes. NO3 & PO4 leaching from old LR - just 3 small fish & 2 mushrooms.

I think vodka is about 8 times as concentrated as vinegar, in terms of carbon dosing.

No, 40mL is not unreasonable. You may want to start with a lower dose and work upwards though.
