Wow that is incredible. I am sure all the companies will make us jump through all the hoops (MH, VHO, PC, T5, LED, HID - looks like some already are being phased out) to extract all the money before they just sell a system with a tiny bulb like that one. But, with technology like this one, the future looks bright for us reef guys and gals.

The only downer is the highest spectrum is 6000K which I think is yellowish.

I think LED still has the advantage on efficiency they are producing around 160 lumens per watt, though each bulb is only 3 watts not 250. I have a close friend who is running his 84" reef on two of these plasma bulbs though, they are extremely impressive. I believe in the close future plasma and led will be what MH and T5HO are now.

yah, right now its on the low side, but hopefully inthe future as the technology matures, they can make make bulbs inthe spectrum we need.
