hey i dont have an R/O machine so i have to do my water changes by adding prime but when i recently did it i got a bad algae bloom.
dark orange algae on most of my rock and its continuing to spread.
is there anything i can do to stop or correct this?
such as a treat meant or snails or crabs?
thanks in advance!

Are you cycling? If so then it's just an algea stage.

Even using distiller water may cause algae I've done it all and learn from my mistakes use only ro from a lfs or from your home

I've heard using tap water causes bad algea so that's probably it.

Good purchase on the RO. Having pure water on hand is so convenient compared to the alternative of driving to the LFS. You won't regret it. Just make sure to fill your buckets in the sink or tub as you will inevitably forget one night and filter 5-10 gallons of water onto your floor (guilty ).
