Eggs in reef tank - any idea what these are?

Hi Reefers,

My friend has a bunch of white eggs on the glass of his reef tank and also on the heater. He says they're hard to scrape off. Any idea what these might be?

It could be nerite eggs. What kinds of snails does he have? If they are hard and spiral shaped, then they are spirorbid worms, harmless filter feeders.

Thanks Adrienne! I think they may be Nerite eggs like you said. I just wrote my friend to see if he has Nerite snails, but they do look like Nerite eggs to me now that you mentioned it.

My tank is covered in these and I have nerites. They are all over everything. Harmless but annoying. I even have some snails with them on them...
