I was thinking about adding two oscilating returns to my tank and was woundering if anyone has used them with positive or negitive effects. The sea swirls I'm referring to are at marine depot. Thx

I have. It stopped swirling after a year. I never bothered to send it in for repair. When it was working, it did help change flow direction in the tank. I used the 3/4" model.

I can't make up my mind on what to do. I have 3
korilla 4's and 2 return pumps(2200 gph). I need to change direction since everything is in afixed position. Are you able to point them up and down? I'd like to do the tunzee but$700 as opposed to $400. Also I'm assuming I'd have to go 1" due to gph even though I have 3/4" lines.

I also have 4 6100s tunze as well & i use 45 degree elbow fittings to point the sea swirls down. works great. i have 1" dia returns- 1 swirl for return & 1 for closed loop

The sea swirls come with a locline nozzle that you can point up, down, left, right whatever. I use a 1/2" one on my 40g and love it. I don't think I would set up a tank again without one on it.

I'll have to give it a try then since they are on sale. P/u the tunzee 6105 later. I have seen them in action and look cool.

Mr. Pluto how much turn over do you have in your tank? I have 28 times should I be more concerned with turn over at this point. Maybe the sea swirl and another korilla 4? Are your tunzees on a controller or the same gph all the time?

i don't think the 1" comes with loc lines. it would've been great if that was the case.

Does the 1" still have threads like the 1/2 and 3/4?

ok, thats what comes with the smaller ones as well, with the addition of a locline nozzle fitting.

I love my 1" sea swirls. I have been using them for several years and they are worth every penny I paid for them.

Alright I just got in my sea swirles yesterday and haven't installed them yet. Readind the destructions they said not to mount them on the overflows. I'm kinda in a rough spot I have a 200 gal oceanic and the overflows are in the corners. I also have a canopy with a solid back to it. I don't really want to take the canopy off and cut holes in it because I have 3 mh fixtures and my t5 lighting on it. Has anyone mounted them to the overflowes and had good luck with it?

I think they don't want them mounted to the overflows because they will be so close to the water. Why not make a bracket for them to sit on, All you need is a flat surface for it to sit on and a hole for the downspout to poke through. They make one for the corner of an aquarium, you can look at that and just copy it for the flat back.

you might have to beef up the overflow, they most likely won't clamp on the thin plastic to well. put a block or something to grab. they are great to have, I used to have one in the center back wall. changed to a 3600 dolphin and an OM 4-way on a closed loop - just awesome!

I like the idea of the flat back mount I didn't even think about that. I'll probably jus make something out of wood. Another great point was the support of the overflow or lack there of. If I'm going with a 3/4" return plumbing and I have the 1" swirl do I need a releif port drilled in the elbow or will the pressure drop across it be enough? I'm runing two rio's w/ 1200 gph.
