Are the deals not really that great?
-Chris
The first one, there were some good deals; the last one, I thought the prices were unreasonable for broken and used stuff. There were quite a bit of complains from those who attended the last sales.
Anyhow, I don't know about this one. Hopefully, they will take suggestions from the last event into consideration.

I'm going to check it out, especially since they're just down the street from me. Hopefully I can find some gear for my friend who just joined the hobby. Good deals will encourage him to stay with the hobby, he feels this is an expensive hobby. Which I agree.
Cheers,

why is everyone complaining about it being junk.
All this stuff is great deals and typically brand new. Some products may need some tinkering but for the price why not try. Last time i was there i got a sweet 6 bulb t5 fixture for like 100 bucks. All i needed to do was replace one endcap.

There are stores close by where you can get some cash, but don't expect your light to be there when you get back! I might have already bought it hehe.
Get an idea what you want, check the retail price of it, than take 30 to 40% off of that... that's about what you'll need. But then you'll see something else you want and you won't have enough money.
So... just bring what you can afford to spend.
See you guys Saturday!

Maybe you should just focus on the skimmer LOL!

Bought two buckets of salt, a 70-watt Viper, a Hanna Ph tester, and a Tunze Nano Wavebox. The wavebox claimed to have been refurbished, but it wasn't. Won't make waves. Think I got screwed on that one. :(

huckleberry - contact Tunze, they might just replace it for you. Either way I am sure they will take care of you. I forget the guys name to contact but check out the Tunze sponsor forum and you will find some info. They replaced 2 of my 6045s no questions asked.
Thanks Greg for getting this together once again! Thanks to the Marine Depot scratch/dent sale my tank upgrade is under way! Half filled with water and soon to be up and running! It is ABOUT TIME!

Is the pump pulsing? What are the deminsions of your tank? What wave box did you get. Did it come with a controller? If you bought one of the wave box extensions, it requires a controller. Do you have the top of the box out of the water? It takes a bit of time to dial the wave boxes in. There was a bucket of water and eletrical outlets set up so you could test pumps. I tested three other wave boxes for people and two of them worked great. The third did not say it had been reconditioned and the pump did not work. I had waves going pretty quickly on the working ones, but I have used them before.

the pump comes on for a very short burst or less than a second and then dies. I tested the pump without the controller and it barely pushes any water at all out the hole in the wavebox. It should pretty much empty the box. With the controller attached it moves water up & down the box about an inch before the pump dies. The box top is out of the water. I did not see the test buckets. :( The setup seems fairly straight forward, and I believe that if the pump was working it would be making waves. I've put up a post in the Tunze section. Hopefully they will help out. I have it set up in my 135g, which is 72" long. This wavebox may be a tad small for this tank, but I don't want to make a huge wave either.

What voltage setting do you have the power supply set at. It sounds like it is set at 12 volts, instead of 24 volts. There is a slide switch on the power supply just slid it to 24 volts. I bought the none working Nano wave box and was able to repair it today. If you want and are in OC/Irvine area your welcome to bring it by and I will try to help you with it. They really are a neat unit.

I didn't bring mine to work with me, but if possible I'd like to see how yours is set up and what the typical wave is I could expect. I work in Irvine at Bake & Irvine Blvd. Are you available this afternoon around 4:30-5:00'ish? Roger from Tunze is working with me to take care of mine. I just want to make sure the unit I have is really not doing what I believe and Roger said it should be doing.
