I have a 70W viper over my tank, using the bulb that came with it. It has the stock 14000k JBJ bulb with maybe a couple hundred hours on it. The bulb has always had a nice crisp white color. Today I started it up and the color looked normal, I fell asleep for a few hours and when I woke up the light was a really dim purple color. It wasn't even a blue, it was a very distinct purple. What is going on? I thought these bulbs are supposed to last a year?
I turned the light off and am letting it cool down and then going to restart it and see what happens.
