i have some sugar sand in my tank i love the white color....but the sand is blowing around no matter how i move my powerheads so im pretty well sick of it...i've debated about using crushed coral but i heard that its not a great thing because deterious can build up....

so can anyone suggest sand for a mostly SPS tank?

As I have been planning my build, I have been looking into this as well.
I am sure you will get varying responses based on people's personal experiences, but from what I have read among the threads here, it seems that Caribsea SeaFlor Special Reef Sand is one that a lot of folks use. It has a mix of grain sizes and is large enough that it doesn't blow around constantly, but it is still okay for gobies and blennies, etc. Seems that having a sand sifting star or two, or snails that work in the substrate is enough in a lot of cases to keep the sand clean as well.

i would have your LFS order you some as they usually have it brought in without shipping fees so you can eliminate that cost but they may charge a bit more than online . i thing marine depot is shipping for $5.99 this month if im not mistaken . check with them and see.

Hmmm...i was thinking Fiji Pink for my build, but now I may have to reconsider.
