That seems really high, I just picked up a 8-9" one for a third of that price.

Yes overpriced: but never had a diseased or fish die from DD.
Well, I couldn't pass it up. Just bought the big guy hope he doen't take out everything else in my tank! I'm doing a $30,000 reno on my house which is way under budget, so that price is a little skewed to me right now but I'm still thinking I'm a little out of control with my fish budget.
Just thinking I'd pay that for a shark why not a fish. This was supposed to be a relaxing hobby, not one that makes me work more to afford it!
Hey, JMmcown if is out there shoot me a pm about the one you eventualy got.

Well I missed that one. I emailed them about a month ago about a show size clown trigger and that must have been the one they got in. Lmk if it doesn't work in your tank. I'll buy it from you.

Very cool CT. This is actually the first time I have seen a CT with pink highlights on the fins other then my own.

Mine is not quite 11 inches, but he is getting there :)
Beautiful fish. Good luck.

Mine was getting slight pink highlights at only 6", here is a picture of it before I sold it. You can see the tail is starting to show pink but the other fins didnt have any yet.

The one I got that was 11.25 from NY that didn't make it (residing in my freezer now) had the pink hues on the fins. I've been looking for a big one for several months.

I love clown triggers. Mine is apparently camera shy as you can see it went white for the footage. I was holding a big yellow and red bag in my hand, and they are shy around strange objects, but you'll get the idea:

Hey OST, are your rocks all balanced like that or did you hook them together somehow?

Balanced or shall I say stacked.

I need to figure out a good way to epoxy rocks together, something that will stand up to heavy moving of fish.

From personal experience I use plastic rods (rigid tubing), drilled the rock and then epoxied the rock to the rods.

Best way to do it IMO

I've seen some type of foam, it's marine safe, that you can use so you dont have to drill the rocks at all, I'd like to stick to that if possible. I just need to find out what the foam actually is :)

He had a long build thread on rc, but here is a summary of what he did.

I'm going to try something similar when I upgrade.

OST,
Is that a boomerang triggerfish in your tank? I almost got one last week but it was sold.
OSTguy
04/18/2010, 06:35 PM
Thanks, the emp and blueface angels had their issues at the start of introduction, but got past them. The tank is a 8' 240 with a 40 gallon studio for one fish that has poor vision, and a 50 sump for the skimmer and more rock.
There is a lei or boomerang trigger in there, pretty nice fish.

I have an 8" or so Lei trigger. They are really cool, underrated trigs.

Take pictures of the acclimation process if possible, I always like to see that.

Big CTs are awesome.
IMO, worth the price (relative to other overpriced fish).
Shipping into US must be brutal.

Your only opportunity to measure with exactness will be during acclimation. This fish is too big to acclimate in a salt bucket as they only measure like 10.5", probably need a storage container or something of the like. But you probably already know this with all your other big fish. Keep us updated on the new guy.

Well it got here around 11 am, wasn't in the best shape but still kickin. It was bagged 7 times with the last few layers with newspaper. He chewed a hole in the last 2 causing a big paper mess and really dark-cloudy greyish water. He's a little under 11 inches, kinda figured that's how it'd be. Anyway I was worried at first but calmed down since, finishing up acc now. I got a few pics right from the start I'll put em up a while.

I had an 11 inch goldenheart that was shipped like that before. Shredded newspaper everywhere, water was black. I tossed him in the DT rather than acclimating and he made it just fine.

Here you guys go, honestly nothing too impressive, A few pics st the start then some in the tank. He's still having a hard time with the corners, hasn't gotten it's bearing yet but moving more than at first. He actually wedged himself in the corner on top of the horn shark for about 15 minutes (H shark is going in the pond tonight). Glad the other fish are leaving it alone.

Man you've got some big tangs. I know the trigger is big but your tangs are about the same size. Great looking trigger for sure. I'm sure he'll be fine. What kind of wrasse is that in the last pic?

That's a banana wrasse, rarely stops pacing tank and darting thru rocks. One of my fav tangs is the Atl Blue I got from DD a year ago it's the same size or bigger than the new guy
