I have a 46 gallon bow and use a SWC Extreme 160. A little overkill but you only want to purchase a skimmer once, might as well spend the money 1 time rather then 2-3 times on changing skimmers. You can get a way with a 120 easily. IMO SWC is a better skimmer then Bubble Magus, although they do ok. I tend to lean towards a larger skimmer then recommended. I used a H&S rated for 300 gallons on my 120 and a Euro-Reef rated for 150 gallons on my 55. Save up a little longer for the better skimmer and you'll be happier long term
