I just cancelled my salinity probe and SL2 module for my reefkeeper elite and just bought a Pinpoint Salinity monitor. Worked out cheaper anyway, just another piece of equipment rather then integrating it all in one.

The really blows! I ordered the SL2 and probe at the same time. At no time when I ordered it did it show out of stock or backordered! The reason why I bought the SL2 was so I could have everything on one module i.e ph,temp, salinity. Otherwise I would've done what NCNY21802 did.

Depending on what model you have, the PH and temp probe will be able to hook up out of the box. The SL2 really is just so you can add the salinity probe to it as well. That's why i did what I did, still get all the same features without the module and just hook up the pinpoint. I took the savings and applied it towards the lunar module and some extra moon lights.

I currently have the temp and ph hooked up. I'm going to get a pinpoint unit instead. that way I can check my DT and FSW tank before PWC'S.

The company that manufactures the salinity probes for DA was having issues producing a quality product, so DA went a different route. When they get a probe produced that looks like it will have some decent longevity, they will start shipping them again. Because there are multiple players involved, DA has no way of determining exactly how long it will take to produce them. If you are frustrated, just imagine how frustrated they are. They don't make any money when the product isn't available so rest assured they are on top of it and will start shipping them as soon as possible.
