My birdsnest has recently lost polyp extension and I have no idea why. My latest tests are Ca 380, Alk 7.2 dKh, Mg 1280. The Ca is a little lower than normal, and Alk may be low, but it is usually around 7.5-8 with no issues. I also recently had a heater fail on me and the temp dropped overnight to about 74 from the normal 81-82. It took a couple of days to get a proper replacement and during that time the temp would go between 75-82 throughout the day. I have a RANCO that will be installed soon. Here is a picture:

What can I do to help it if anything? Thanks

you could frag off a good piece just in case. Your temp swing and Ca/Alk swing is likely the problem.

What do you use to maintain Ca/Alk ?

You need to be consistent. Are there any other problems?

I am using B-Ionic 2 part to maintain Ca/Alk. It usually tests within 20ppm and .5dKh. Is that too inconsistent? I thought it was probably safe. Are birdsnest a very sensitive coral? Everything else is looking healthy and normal.

Some say they are easy, IME I have always had trouble with them.

Your range seems fine, why was it so low that last time you tested? Had you just done a water change perhaps?

It was low due to consumption exceeding dosing I think. Since then I have started adding a little more 2 part every day. I plan to test again tonight to see if I am correct.
