Heat Problems

I am currently running the Sun Tek 6x54 watt fixture. I light the fixture and all but I don't like how it doesn't have any cooling fans. I have a buddy that is really good with electrical so I thought about putting some computer fans built into the top of the fixture. Would this be possible? And will this raise my PAR rating on the bulbs that I have? Thanks

You can install computer fans in any fixture you want, maybe you must cut plastic, etc. but it is pretty easy to do. Your bulbs will last longer with cooling.

Yes, it would raise both the PAR and prolong the bulbs life. I use a tek on my planted tank, and I just mounted a computer fan to the side of the tank pointed lengthwise down the length of the bulbs. It doesn't need to be fancy.
