screen is what i have read on here, depends on the wrasse. if he is small then screen but if he is big eggcrate will work

i would suggest the screening method as wrasses are escape artists so be prepared for them to get through the tiniest of holes . i have enclosed canopies and they are constantly bouncing off my lights . i have even had one jump through my cooling fan and fall to the floor ,i picked him up and put him back and he has been fine ever since .that was a year ago and it was tough to beat my dog to the tiny morsel that he thought was for him .

i would for sure go with the the screen..i got mine at home depot for pretty cheap..i would suggest using 1/4" netting and i doubled mine up...i showed no effects with the lighting as weel as others that have used this..

I put screen around the inside and back of my canopy. It's saved my mystery wrasse at least twice now. He was going after some shrimp and got really excited and jumped. He bounced right back in.
You can see what I did in this post here.

ok thanks, can you guys recommend any type of removal device, hinge, velcro? cause im planning on putting this on the back of an open canopy adn i dont have any doors on the canopy so that is my only method of feeding.

good point with the light issue as the eggcrate will also reduce the light by quite a bit so definatly stay away from that .

This guy sells a clear mesh that you incorporate into the metal frame from a window screen kit. Because the mesh is clear it allows far more light in with openings that are smaller than eggcrate. My best friend got it and it looks great. Mine is on the way. His name is Dave and his price is very fair.

I beleive you are talking about the same mesh as mine. I haven't ran across anything better than this for keeping wrasses in your tank.

If his is the same as the one I'm suggesting then it's basically just plastic flexibleesh but clear and like i said before smaller holes than eggcrate. If they get out of that then they deserved it! Try his email I think it will help

I've got a bluspotted jawfish I just got yesterday. The thing is so agitated he keeps hovering midway up the tank looking up like he is itching to jump. He actually carpet surfed out of my hand from the bag so I can't wait for this stuff to show up
