Good Morning Gents/Ladies

I need some opinions please. A little background. I got this male crosshatch on March 4th and placed him in my 125 gallon QT. I just monitored him for 2 weeks till he started eating then on the 24th of March I dosed 1oz of prazi-pro. During the treatment the fish was acting and eating fine. Up until the March 24th I was doing weekly 50 gallon water changes to keep the water quality as good as I could. After I added the prazi I left things alone for about 4 days just monitored and feed like normal. All is going great so far. On Sunday the 28th I did a 50 gallon water change and added my carbon back. On April 1st I added 6ml of cuprmaine the fish is acting and behaving like normal so on the 2nd of April I add another 6ml of cuprmaine. I waited 2 more days and added another 6ml of cuprmaine. This entire time the fish is acting and eating like normal. On the 6th of April I added my final 6ml of Cuprmaine getting to my 24ml doasge amount and a level of .5 cuprmaine. The fish is acting and eating normal and actually comes out now to greet me when I enter the room. So he has been in .5 cupramine now for a little over 2 weeks my target is 3-4 weeks. He has these spots onhis head that I am really not sure what they could be. Any opinions???? To sum it up this guy has been thru 4 days prazi pro and 2 weeks @ .5 cupramine....

I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like Ich to me...

Too large to be Ich, too small to be Lymph.

What do others think?

Yeah, looks to big to be ich. Does it look like marks from rubbing on the PVC edges?

Its hard to tell. Some looke like raised bumps and others look like indentations.

Crosshatches like to dive in to the rocks to hide. To me it looks like he keeps bumping his head.

I do like those fish. My last tank was to small for a full grown male though ( I learned the hard way)

I would agree if they were not raised bumps. I think during the last week of copper I will add another oz of prazipro just to rule out any flukes. People do combine cupramine and prazipro correct? I remember reading that on here before.

Yes, they can both be used together.

It doesnt look at all like ich to me. If the fish had ich, you'd see it in other places like the fins and the eyes.

What about flukes?

My buddy thinks Lymph....And I am sure the water quality is not as good because I have not changed any water since I started the copper treatment.

I've actually never seen lympho on a trigger, but normally lympho you see on fins first or around the mouth, it's pretty rare to have right on the head and I would think even more rare for a trigger.

Does it look like this?

Those are some pictures of my old niger trigger, he got raised bumps on his skin too and they were purely from physical damage. He rammed his head and face into rocks and PVC like a dingbat. The small marks would scar over quickly and make a raised white bump. You can see the different steps of the damage, at first they were small pits (they look bigger than yours but my fish was over a foot long and I'm way zoomed in) and after they scarred over they had white bumps coming out of the pit.

some of them could look like that....HUM....Maybe it is from the PVC pipe....Thanks for those pictures I appreciate it. I will continue to monitor it and keep up on the copper treatment. THanks again...

How is the water quality? Doing daily 50 water changes leads me to believe that you have ammonia problems. You could have the beginnings of HLLE on that fish...

No I dont have an ammonia problem....and I never said daily 50 gallon water changes I said weekly. Not sure if HLLE is a possibility..

It doesnt look at all like HLLE to me, raised bumps are about the exact opposite of holes in the head.

It's definitely not HLLE.
Recty, that looks nasty. When i've seen rubbing damage more often than not they lose the entire scale, actually never saw anything like this on my Clown trigger, undulatus or fuscus. Did you get rid of the PVC or move the fish and did it heal?

Yes, my trigger eventually healed. And yes, the PVC was removed, or more correctly he was removed from the tank that had PVC :)

Those spots he had eventually flattened back out and regained their normal color.
