I bought a fluval edge 6 gallon tank that i have turned into a sw reef tank.. i replaced the halogen bulbs(mr11) with mr16 62smd cool white leds(6k) and have some generic "blue" led strips pretending to be "actnic"... these blue trips do change the off white/yellow tinting to a bit cooler off white, but theyre still too yellow to bring out out the right tints and shades of my corals.

my question is: is there a general forumla for mixing light temperatures/lumens/watts, etc, to get the proper tint of a traditional larger reef tank? the cool white leds i have are 300 lumens each, 6k color, and i was thinking about running two actinic led bulbs on an extra set of mr11 sized sockets.. can anyone advise on where to find "actnic" mr11 or mr16 bulbs, and/or what mixture of cool white vs actinic i should have for a proper reef appearance and coral growth?

thanks! couldnt find my answer(s) via the search function..
