Okay If I were to go to Home Depot or something and ask for this stuff what is it really called? I have looked all over the website with no positive outcomes. I know we call it egg-grate but what is the official name for it?

It's really called egg crate, I picked some up last week and that is exactly what it says on the tag. :) At our HD its in with the lighting with all the rest of the light diffusing plastics.

If you're going to ask somebody to show you where it is just tell them you're looking for the plastic you put below fluorescent lights ;).

Okay thanks for your help I am going to stop by a Depot on the way home from work today and pick up a sheet. One of the guys I work with said he bought some not too long ago and he told me exactly where it was in the store. Thank you for all your help.

Picked up some from Lowes a few days ago and it says egg crate right on the sticker. It was over where the ceiling tiles were for a drop ceiling.
