View Full Version : ID Help

If you've seen this on another forum here, I apologize for the cross-post, but others thought this was the best location for ID help with this.

This guy was a hitchhiker and has been in my tank for three years. I could occasionally see the tips of his tentacles, but I just moved everything into a larger tank last week, so now I finally have a complete view of him.

This photo is his open position:

This is after he ate some chopped shrimp that I fed him:

His disc is a little less than 3/4 of an inch across. His body always remains hidden in the rock, and his tentacles remain open day and night.

I thought he might be a Club-Tipped Anemone, but I had a couple of people suggest that he might be a Pseudocorynactis. I believe that both are corallimorpharians.

Any suggestions?

It does look a lot like pseudocorynactis, but that's an unusual coloring. Typically the tentacles are clear with color only at the tips. I've seen a few that had color on the tentacles, but generally subdued. You might try looking through images of pseudocorynactis on google.
