Barnacles

Has anyone had a barnacle alive and well growing on an acropora before? If so, will it do harm or must I frag it off or try to trim it off?

They are very commonly found in wild harvested corals. They are commensal and are harmless. It is likely to die due to paucity of drifting food and eventually covered by coral tissue.

I had a barnacle living in my red chili cactus coral for about 6 months.
My coral healed right up. It took about a month.
