I had a period of 8 weeks of no fish following an ich outbreak. I added 2 tank bred clowns on sunday and they were doing great until today when both of them would seldom roam around the tank. They don't look diseased at all other than exhibiting faster than normal breathing and one eats. They just hover in a corner or on opposite corners from each other and swim out once in a while. I saw one of them poop out a white stringy substance. Can frozen hikari mysis carry any pathogens? Thats all I have been feeding them.
I must ask....Why after leaving your tank fallow for 8 weeks would you not have set up a Quarentine tank? You might have just put ich right back in your main tank again.

They were quarantined for 5 weeks while the tank was still sitting fallow. I transferred them exactly when the tank went 8 weeks. Their not showing any external issues they are both colorful and with perfect finnage. Just the weird behavior. I saw another poop out the stringy substance, can it be a internal parasite?
Did you treat them with anything while in QT?

Didn't treat them with anything because they showed no signs of illness. Its day 4 now since adding them in and their swimming more and both are now eating. Breathing has decreased significantly.
OK hopefully all works out.

No signs of ich or other visible skin lesions or flashing from the fish other than that vibrating thing they do when their fighting. One fish activley looks for food in the rocks now but the other one still likes to hover and when it poops in a white string, should I treat it?
No I would not do anything. Keep your water quality up and just monitor for a few weeks. As long as the fish is eating I would leave it alone.

Okay, well after a couple days of them doing fine, I went home to one of the clowns having a swollen eye. I fed it before lights out and they both ate fine. The eye wasn't like that this morning. How do I treat it and is it contagious?
