Derasa question

Im getting a derasa clam tommorow that is about 6 inches. I have read that they are the less light demanding than other clams. Where should I put in in my 75g with 4*65 watt pcs. On the sand or mid-way up in the tank on the rocks? I know they like the sand but have read some can be placed on the rocks..

not too thrilled with the lighting, so i'd say get a tupperware container with sand in it, put a smallish rock under the sand put it about halfway up and hope he attaches. i have 2 and the small one loves his rock, but the big one never attached. if yours hasn't in a week, put him on the sand.
or you can try to just put him midway up on the rocks themselves, but he could be much bigger in a year or 2.
they'll be where they wanna be!
