Metal halide height inside the conopy question

I may have build my canopy a little shallow. With the SE MH mounted It would be just about 10 1/2" from the water line. Question is how high should it be at? Tank is 60x24x24 with two SE MH this will be sps and lps

Really depends upon your reflector. Specific ones have recommended heights.

My 250 watt halides are about 8" from the water to the bulb and the reflector is 10" so you should be fine with a hieght of 10".

i have 2 lumenbright reflectors on my 4x2x2 tank. It is at 14" right now, but recommended was 15"-16". Like sbeason said, different reflectors have different requirements.

Don't know what brand reflector but it's a 36" spyder reflector that house 2 mogul halide. I picked them up from CL so I don't know the brand.

With the length of your tank, you may need 3 MH bulbs to cover the entire tank.
