ok, guys/gals here is where I am at now.

for a 75 gallon reef with essentially no sps mainly lps, zoos, mushrooms etc.

I am deciding between a new tek elite 48" 4 bulb fixture OR a 48" nova extreme pro with 6 bulbs. I am down to these two fixtures because I must have something that sits on the tank.

the tek will have quality bulbs so 4 of them vs. the nova with all bulbs replaced with quality bulbs so 6 of them

price will be within 10-15 bucks for each light with new bulbs opinions thoughts etc.

I can't speak from experience with a 6 bulb T-5 but I have a 4bulb on my 45 and I think I'd like a 6 better. If I remember right, a 75 has 6 more inches of front to back depth than my 45 so I also think you'd like a 6 bulb better.

I have the 6 bulb NEP on my 90 same tank only 4 inches deeper i love it. A friend has the 4 bulb nova extreme on his 75 and it works fine but when he comes over he mentions that he wishes he went with the 6 bulb.

In all honesty I'd look into a Catalina Aquariums fixture. You get a LOT of Bang for your Buck!!

6 bulb regular Tek or the 6 bulb Nova you mentioned will work. I would get six bulbs for the color combos and coverage.

For 6 bulbs:

ATI Blue Plus
UVL Super Actinic
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus

For 4 bulbs

ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus

You may have to change the order for dusk/dawn.
