View Full Version : Octopus vs. ASM

I am not longer kept active on equipment, and I have a friend who is looking for a new skimmer on his 300g. I am very familiar with the ASM, but the Octopus came after my active research.

How dependable are the octopus pumps compared to the Sedras?

I am looking at Models, and I am trying to decide between the ASM g4, the Octopus Dual 6 on marine Depot (Is this an outdated model because I can't find it anywhere else), and the DNWB-200 model (is this the newer model of the 6?).

I currently have an ASM G2, but I am looking at the Reef Octopus line myself. The new Sicce pumps seem to be on par or maybe a touch better than the Sedras. I would stick with the new models of Reef Octopus if you go that route.

I have an ASM-G3, Octo Extreme 160, and a Euro reef 120. I think my ASM-3 skims the best but it is gate modded. The other two are stock, I would say they are a tie.
