Hi all. Im planning on building a 5g fuge for my 24g Aquapod. Im gonna run a HOB overflow next to my media basket which holds ChemiPure-Elite, Purigen, and a filter pad. In the first chamber of the fuge i was gonna have water drain into a filter sock then get skimmed by a Tunze 9002. Then the fuge. Then the return.

My questions are:

1.) Will a Tunze 9002 be efficient for the setup? Or should I go with a bigger HOB skimmer to hang onto the fuge?

2.) The bottom of the Fuge is about 3 feet below the top of my main tank. What sort of return pump am I looking for? The overflow is rated at 300gph. Im also planning on adding ball valves to adjust flow.

3.) Whats the refugium substrate that your supposed to mix with sand to get the sea-grass growing out of the sand?

Thanks for any help
