Are these thigs worth the money. I have been thinking of getting one of these for my 150g. I run Hydor Koralias which aren't rated for a wave maker. I have a double return line, so I figured this might be a good idea to get some random wave action.

What do you all think? Do they work, and are they worth the money?

honestly a sea swirl does the same thing, but it is a little better and you dont have to clean it like you do a scwd.

I have only seen one in use and it did a great job, but I dont know about maintaining them. Beaun can you explain what cleaning has to be done on them please?

I have one on my 210 and love it ,as for the cleaning it is just like your pumps take it apart and clean the build up off , every 3- 6 months . i love how it churns the water up .

I just set up a 40gbr and installed one to eliminate the need for powerheads in the tank. So far it seems to be working great and I really like the water movement it creates. I'm running a BlueLine 40x for the return pump and probably turning 1000gph, I'm really not sure exactly. Here's a pic of how I plumbed it before I actually set up the tank, so the pic is from the top down looking through the bottom of the tank. The SCWD tee's the return and then tee's off again going into the tank. So there are 4 total outlets coming in through the bottom of the tank, 2 on the left and 2 on the right that alternate back and forth with the SCWD.

Koralias aren't rated for wave makers that turn on and off. They will work with a Seio Electronic controller which ramps the power from 30% to 100% on two power heads in a timed cycle that you set.
