My tank is 7 weeks old or so. Last week it turned pretty green, no real big deal. But that green algae on the rocks is now shiny/glowing (not sure how to explain it) The pic I took did not show it at all, so its not worth posting.

Any idea what this could be?

Fluorescent? Is it more like a velvet carpet? Does it have bubbles under it?

yeah fluorescent would probably be the word I was looking for. lol

No bubbles under it, and doesnt look much like a velvet rug.

Have you seen any bright lights in the sky around your house?

Here is the best pic I can get. Not sure it really shows what it is though.

And yes my glass is filthy right now, i know that.

Was your rock dead rock? Any dead pieces I've cycled always turn a sort of hemi cuda green during the cycle.

most of the rock was marco rock, and I have been adding pieces of live rock to seed them.

I've seen that before, can't remember where though, and can't remember if it's good or bad, sorry.

This is really shooting from the hip, but that just strikes me as a natural part of your cycle and something that will go away on its own in due time. That's how I would view it in my tank. Good luck.
