Sand Cloud

Everytime I touch the sand theres a sand cloud explosion, is this normal, even just minor sand movement creates a totally cloudy tank? I have only had the sand and water in for less than 24 hrs will this get better?

Yes, it will get better. A bio-film will coat the sand and it will not be as bad...give it a week to 10 days.

ok thanks, I did rinse the sand but it didnt seem to help, I have to add my live rock so it starts to cycle, I dont need to see much.

Is it better to run the filter or a powerhead or nothing?

i would run your return/flow as normal. The cloudiness will subside after a few days
